Ophthalmic Technician
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ophthalmic
technicians help ophthanologists collect data to allow the correct diagnosis
and treatment of eye diseases or problems. Ophthalmic Technicians work at
hospitals, clinics, or in private hospitals. They perform simple eye exams.
They also assist with eye surgery; Explaining diagnostic and treatment
procedures to patients.
Salary:
$14,000-$25,000
Educational
Requirements:
Students
will require a high school diploma or a GED. Student also needs two years of
college prior to beginning ophthalmic training programs.
